Zumba® is so much fun and I'm so happy that I have the opportunity to share it with others.  Prior to teaching Zumba ®, I was a Tribal Belly dance instructor for over three years. I taught for Portland Community College and  Cedar Hills Rec Center.  I perform and have taught Mexican Folklore dance, which I learned while I was living in Mexico in 2000 and 2001. I performed with the dance troupe "Cuauhnahuac" in Puebla. I learned folklore dances from the states of Chihuahua, Morelia, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Tabasco and Oaxaca. I lived in Mexico for two years and became familiar with Cumbia and other Latin rhythms. I spent nearly all my weekends at different fiestas dancing and becoming familiar with much of the popular music in Mexico and learning Spanish.

I have fun practicing Zumba® with my two sons who like the Reggaeton, Merengue and Pop songs the most. They always want me to skip the Salsa songs (which are my favorite, but I say that about EVERY song). I continue to stay in tune with Latin rhythms by going dancing at parties and clubs. I had no idea when I trained in Zumba what a great fit it would be in my life. Now I get to bring the joy of the moves and music I love and the benefit of a great cardio workout to others!

With a big beaming smile and the love for music and dance you'll forget your in a workout class when you go to Vilio's class. Some of Vilio's favorite rhythms include Cumbia, Rock n Roll and Quebradita. For the past 8 years he has been choreographed privately for quinceñeras "15th birthday celebration". He performed with the dance troupe "Cuauhnahuac" in Puebla Mexico for 5 years.
